Local play and online play
Local play keeps your cat and progress on your device. Online play uses Supabase to store your account identity, chosen display name, age band, timezone, cat state, care activity and game progress. Your sign-in provider may supply an email address. The app asks for an age band, not your birthday.
Your Clowder
Members of your Clowder can see the shared cat, care attribution, presence, and cat portraits you choose to upload. Invitations still require acceptance in the app. Online friendships and playdates are stored to make shared play work.
Photos, clips and permissions
Cat Check captures the virtual cat through the game camera. This flow does not ask for your phone camera or photo library. Uploaded portraits are stored in private storage with access rules. Locally recorded game clips use bundled meow audio, not your microphone. Sharing through your device’s share sheet sends a copy to the destination you select; recipients can keep that copy.
The app does not intentionally collect your contacts, precise location, microphone recordings, payment-card details, or personal health information. Cat health is a game statistic.
Optional services
Push reminders use Firebase Cloud Messaging and, on Apple devices, Apple’s notification service after you opt in. Store purchases, when enabled, use Apple or Google and RevenueCat to record products, transactions and entitlements. Purrents does not receive your full payment-card number.
Optional adult diagnostics use PostHog and Sentry after consent. Eligible rewarded ads, when enabled, use AdMob and a verified reward receipt. Contextual ads can still process network or device information for delivery and fraud prevention. Hosting and online services also process ordinary connection information, such as IP addresses and request logs.
Your choices
You can change notification and diagnostic choices in the app’s Settings, and notification permission in your device settings. Under-13 play stays local: online accounts, invitations, ads, online purchases and optional analytics are disabled. Online play for children is not enabled by this beta.
This website
These pages use locally hosted fonts and no advertising or analytics scripts. If you start web account deletion, the browser temporarily stores a sign-in verifier for the return from email, Apple or Google. Email-link verifiers can be shared between tabs in this browser, expire after 15 minutes, and are removed when used. Your account token stays in page memory and is used only with the configured Supabase service to verify your identity and submit a deletion you explicitly confirm. Refreshing or closing the page clears that in-memory token.
Deletion and retention
You can request account deletion in the signed-in app. It removes your profile and owned media and clears identifying care attribution. Shared cats may remain with another co-parent; a cat without any remaining co-parent is removed with its Clowder. Store subscriptions must be cancelled separately through Apple or Google.
Detached transaction and event identifiers remain for replay prevention and reconciliation. Provider erasure can be queued and retried after the app account is removed. Copies already shared to others and store financial records are outside that deletion operation. The beta does not promise a fixed deletion period for provider backups or remaining transaction records.
